Professional Crown Coping & Cut-back Design
Every great porcelain crown starts with a solid foundation. At India Dental Design, our Dental Crown Coping Design service is engineered to support your ceramic layers perfectly. We don’t just produce generic thimbles; we create “Anatomic Cut-backs” that mirror the final tooth shape, reduced uniformly to ensure your porcelain doesn’t fracture.
Whether you are layering on Zirconia (PFZ) or Metal (PFM), our CAD technicians understand the physics of thermal expansion and structural support, delivering files that are ready for your mill or printer.
🛠 Technical Specifications
- Cut-back Depth: Standard 1.2mm (Customizable).
- Design Style: Full Anatomic Reduced or Simple Coping.
- Collar Design: Lingual metal collar or 360° ceramic shoulder.
- Minimum Thickness: 0.4mm (Zirconia) / 0.3mm (Metal/Wax).
- Margin Reinforcement: 0.1mm offset to prevent chipping (Zirconia).
- Cement Gap: Optimized for your specific mill/printer.
Why Ceramists Rely on Our Designs?
1. Anatomic Support
A simple cone (thimble) creates unsupported porcelain that breaks. We design full anatomy first, then shrink it. This supports the cusps and ensures even cooling of the ceramic.
2. Material Optimization
Designing for Sinter Metal (SLM) is different from Zirconia. We adjust the internal fit and drill radius compensation based on whether you are milling or printing/casting.
3. Facial Cut-back
For high-esthetics anterior cases, we can do a “Facial Cut-back” only, keeping the lingual in full contour Zirconia/Metal for strength, while giving you room to layer facial porcelain.
4. Fast Workflow
Your ceramists shouldn’t wait. Send scans in the evening, and the coping design is ready to nest when you open the lab.
Workflow: Simple & Efficient
How to get your copings designed overnight:
- 📥 Step 1: Upload scans via our Portal. Indicate material (e.g., “Zirconia” or “CoCr”).
- 💻 Step 2: Specify “Full Contour” vs “Cut-back” on the Rx.
- 📤 Step 3: Download open STL files next morning.
Test Our Coping Fit
Send us 3 coping units. We will design them for free so you can verify the margins.
